The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri was established on the 1st of October 1981 with fifteen members of staff. The meeting between the Vice Chancellor and the staff members took place on the 16th of October, 1981. At that meeting, a decision to begin admitting students was taken with effect from October, 1982. In the meantime all laboratory facilities and other infrastructures will be provided for ideal teaching and practicals.
